Aquaman

In the DC Universe, the myths about the lost city of Atlantis are true! Atlanna, Queen of Atlantis, had a child with Thomas Curry, a lighthouse keeper, giving birth to Arthur Curry. His Atlantean name is Orin. As the first born son of Queen Atlanna, Arthur is the rightful heir to the Throne of Atlantis, but is reluctant to assume this role. Being half human / half Atlantean, he doesn’t feel a great sense of belonging to either side.

When his brother Orm ascends the throne and becomes the villain Ocean Master and is determined to go to war with the surface, Arthur must put a stop to his threat and take his place as King of the Seven Seas. Now responsible for keeping peace between two worlds, Arthur becomes known as the superhero Aquaman to the people of the surface.

As King, one his chief advisers is Vulko and his top military commander is Murk. Arthur falls in love with Mera, the daughter of the King of Xebel, and the two marry, ruling as a husband and wife team. They are one of the most iconic and powerful coupons in the DC Universe.

Aquaman is able to breathe underwater, swim at incredible speeds, and can communicate with sea life telepathically. As a half Atlantean, he can endure great amounts of damage as a result of Atlantean physiology which evolved to withstand the deep pressures of the sea. However, he’s not invulnerable and can be injured if dealt a strong enough blow. He wears Atlantean armor and wields the Trident of Poseidon allowing him to control water and rule over the oceans.

His arch villain is Black Manta a treasure hunter and expert sea diver who blames Arthur for the death of his father.
